On a daily basis, I have received updates on my twitter and Facebook accounts from the local football body FERWAFA since the last three years when I registered with body.
Just a week ago, the top headlines were about the sacking of Amavubi head coach Jonathan McKinstry, and then Gilbert Yaounde Kanyankore was appointed on short notice as the replacement but dramatically stepped down after failed agreement with the Ministry for just hours then later Jimmy Mulisa took up the job as the interim.
To my surprise, the news caught the attention of many eyes however the FERWAFA official website did not even mention McKinstry’s sacking under any headline. However they are kind enough to inform us how Amavubi was organizing to play the return leg of the Nations Cup qualifier against Ghana in Accra.
That apart, let me take this opportunity to congratulate Emery Bayisenge who joined Moroccan side KAC Kenitra on a three-year contract.
The 22-year-old defender had made a number of attempts to join the higher ranks when he tried to join Austria’s second division league side Linz FC but the deal flopped when he failed to secure a work permit, and only to force to return back at home to feature in APR FC last December.
He had also tried to forge his way into the French side Toulouse FC in 2012 and Zulte Walgem (Belgium) in three year ago however on both occasion failed to get the break through.
KAC Kenitra is not such a big side in the Moroccan league but its B + for the former Isonga FC youngster who is eager to build his career. Getting that exposure will be great for Rwanda and Amavubi in particular.
