RwandAir jins Pink Ribbon campaign to promote Cancer awareness

Rene Anthere Rwanyange

RwandAir has joined the Pink Ribbon Project, a cancer awareness and screening campaign organized by Labscroll Medicals in collaboration with the Nigeria High Commission in Rwanda.

The campaign aims to promote prevention, early detection and timely screening for cervical and prostate cancer. It brings together medical, corporate and diplomatic partners to raise public awareness of cancer risks and encourage preventive healthcare as part of routine health practices.

As part of the initiative, RwandAir’s Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer has been named a Pink Ribbon Ambassador, in recognition of her leadership and commitment to health and wellness in the workplace.

Commenting on the appointment, she said she was honoured to serve as an ambassador and to contribute to efforts that promote awareness, screening, early detection and prevention.

She noted that fostering a healthy and wellness-focused workforce remains a key part of her role, and that the campaign provides an opportunity to extend that commitment beyond the workplace into the wider community.

The Pink Ribbon Project is designed to strengthen public understanding of cancer and encourage individuals to seek medical advice and screening early, rather than waiting until symptoms become severe.

Organized by Labscroll Medicals in partnership with the Nigeria High Commission, the campaign seeks to put greater emphasis on preventive measures and the importance of regular health checks.

Organizers say workplaces have a critical role to play in supporting public health initiatives by providing platforms for health education, facilitating access to medical services and building a culture of prevention.

RwandAir’s participation brings its workforce and public platform to the campaign, while the appointment of its senior HR leader as ambassador gives the airline a direct role in championing its health messages.

The airline said its involvement reflects its broader commitment to employee wellbeing and to promoting a workplace where health remains a priority.

The partnership between Labscroll Medicals, the Nigeria High Commission and RwandAir underscores how collaboration across the medical, diplomatic and private sectors can strengthen public-health awareness.

At its core, the Pink Ribbon Project encourages individuals to be more informed about cervical and prostate cancer, to adopt preventive practices and to seek professional medical advice when needed.
