Kiswahili world association, Chama cha Ukuzaji wa Kiswahili Duniani (CHAUKIDU) has just closed their third conferenceat the University of Dar es salaam, after the USA and Nairobi respectively.
This meeting was attended by over one hundred participants from over 15 countries including USA, China, Germany, Japan, Italy, South Korea, Poland, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Ghana, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Tanzania among others.
The main objective was to see how best they can adopt common strategies and understanding towards the promotion and use of Kiswahili in East Africa, the African continent and the world at large.
Kiswahili is spoken by over two hundred million people and taught in over one hundred Universities all over the world and many Radio stations VOA, RFI, BBC, Deutsche welle etc….
Rwanda was represented by Professor Pacifique MALONGA, a well known Rwandan benevolent Kiswahili promoter for over ten years now.
A well known writer of Kiswahili books, Radio and TV presenter who feels that time has come for all Rwandans to use Kiswahili for faster integration in the region.
