The Israeli Itamar Einhorn loves the Tour du Rwanda, having won his second stage today since the start after Rwamagana on the first day, but his fourth in two years when he discovered the Land of a Thousand Hills in 2024 by winning two stages in Kibeho and Kayonza.
The sprinter from the NSN Development team, defeated yesterday in Muhanze, took his revenge by dominating his teammate Luke Tarling as well as the Spaniards Hodei Munoz (Soudal-Quick Step Devo Team) and Roger Pareta (Movistar Team Academy).
Yesterday’s stage winner Jermaine Zemke was this time outmatched by the power of the former double Israeli national champion who has already claimed eleven victories since the beginning of his career.
After several breakaway attempts that never exceeded a lead of more than a minute, notably that of the Rwandan Mike Uwiduhaye from the Benediction Banafrica team who wanted to lead in front of the famous UCI World Center satellite, the peloton regrouped at the bottom of the Musanze circuit descent.
Sprinting at full speed, the most experienced sprinter of this Tour du Rwanda, Itamar Einhorn, left no chance for his rivals by crossing the finish line with a comfortable margin.
His German teammate Moritz Kretschy is still the leader of the general classification with a lead of 2’02” over another German Johannes Adamietz (Rembe-Rad Net) and 2’18” over Amaniel Desta, the young Ethiopian from the Amani team, the revelation of this Tour du Rwanda 2026.
