Henok Mulueberhan has achieved a magnificent double by winning the last stage and the final classification of this fifteenth edition of the Tour du Rwanda.
The young Eritrean from the Italian team Green Project-Bardiani, who was still in an uncertain position in the overall classification with the Italian Walter Calzoni from the team Q36.5 in the same time and the Belgian William Lecerf from the team Soudal-Quick Step at one second, has done very well.
Henok Mulueberhan remained very concentrated during the whole stage and even wanted to add some panache to his yellow jersey by winning the last stage in front of his rivals in the overall classification.
“This is the best day of my life,” he said, “I have always dreamed of winning the Tour du Rwanda because it is the toughest race in Africa. It will remain a great moment in my career because now I have proved that I can win a big race.”
