Today 22nd April, at Grand Legacy Hotel, the East African Community Kiswahili Commission (EACK) Deputy Executive Secretary opened a three days National Stakeholders Engagement meeting.
This meeting is attended by 10 delegates from the Ministry of Foreign affairs, Rwanda Governance Board (RGB), Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB), University of Rwanda (UR), Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA), Rwanda Private Sector Federation (PSF), African Union Academy of Languages (ACALAN) Kiswahili Commissioner/ BECOS, Forum for African Women Educationists (FAWE) Rwanda, a Private Consultant and three experts from Zanzibar.
The main Agenda comprises the Consideration of the recommendations of Capacity Assessment of the Development and Use of Kiswahili in EAC, National Priorities and Policy Implications.
Discussion on the Global Status of Kiswahili in a multilingual environment, Consideration of the Strategic Priorities of EAKC plan and other related matters.
