After suffering the second defeat in the on-going Paralympic Games in Rio, Rwanda women sitting volleyball assistant Coach Jean Marie Nsengiyumva, has advised the team to stop panicking and to play with ease.
Iran roundly defeated Rwanda 75-47, and giving Rwanda team their second taste of defeat at the 2016 Paralympic Rio Games in Brazil.
Islamic Republic of Iran pulled away ending the first set with a 25-10 run and led, 25-19, at the end of the second half.
The Rwandans still had a lot of fight left in them coming to the third set however Iran pulled the rug from the under as they were on cruise control in the rest of the way winning final set 25-19.
“There is a bit of some change in the team when it comes to passing, attacks, and reception and blocks perhaps the biggest problem is that of panicking and failure to read the game.” Nsengiyumva reported
“We have asked the team to play with confidence and ease, when you do that, your body expression looks better than a person who is playing under pressure. The team played well against Iran, they’re more experienced than us, but our team need to stop freaking out.”
In brief, the assistant coach believes the problem is lack of enough experience and the failure to contain the pressure at such a higher level tournament. He says against Chine, Rwanda was surprised with services.
He gave an example pointing out that if you remember very well the China team have been together for 20 years, they won in London and Beijing. They have been together for a while a reason why they don’t panic and have no pressure something that is lacking within our team.
It was the second defeat for Rwanda that is making the first appearance at the on-going Paralympic Games. Rwanda’s women team lost to defending champions and currently number one China in three straight sets (25-3, 25-8, and 25-6) during the opening match of Group B played on Sunday.
Rwanda returns to action on Wednesday against another tough side USA, in the other group games, Brazil beat Canada 25-7, 25-12 and 25-14 and 25-14 Netherlands lost to Ukraine in a exciting five sets 21-25, 22-25, 25-13, 26-24 and 15-12.
