David Kasirye gets first ever call for Uganda National team, Uganda Cranes

Having impressed for Rayon Sports this season, striker Davis Kasirye has been called into the Uganda Cranes squad for the first time ahead of the CAF Afcon qualifier game away against Botswana on 4th June 2016.

Kasirye aged 20 has been rewarded for his superb form having scored 12 goals so far in the Rwandan league not forgetting the famous hat-trick against rivals APR in the Rwandan local derby played early this month.

The player has featured in all but two of Rayon Sports games when he was suspended by the club management for taking a leave of absence when he had personal family troubles.

The tallest striker has helped his side to reduce the gap between the rivals since the second half of the season began in February, helping them to the second position on the table with 53 points so far.

Former Rwanda coach Milutin Sredojević Micho named the player among the 21 players preparing for the international friendly away to Zimbabwe and the upcoming AFCON 2017 qualifier to Botswana.

In his interview with Panorama Sport, Kasirye who was excited said he was honoured to get the call-up to the Ugandan Cranes after a period of hard work and jostling on the field of play in Rwanda.

The lucky player will compete for a slot to the team alongside another first timer in Werder Bremens Melvyn Lorenzen. He previously featured for URA, BUL F.C, and Express in the Uganda league before joining Rayon Sports
